La Hosteria de Santo Domingo is one of the most popular historic restaurants in the center of Mexico City. In what was once part of the Templo de Santo Domingo de Guzmán, and it’s still just a few minutes away. The plaza is quite important in this area, but the restaurant is more famous for its décor and food than for its history.
Parts of the building date from the 16th century and many doors and windows have been altered since its construction 500 years ago. Today, the patio is covered and glass windows keep things snug, but it’s still an important historic landmark.
